The children have had a fantastic first week back after the Easter holidays. They have begun exploring our new English text, Smaug, which is a ‘defeat the monster’ tale. As part of this unit, the children enjoyed designing their own obstacle courses for their partners to complete, using a range of verbs and adverbs to describe actions in detail.

In maths, we have started revisiting key concepts from across the year, focusing on place value and the four operations.

We were also very lucky to welcome a special visitor this week. Joel Fearon, an Olympic bronze medal winner with the British Bobsleigh team, joined us for an exciting session. The children took part in a range of circuit activities and thoroughly enjoyed cheering each other on throughout the session.
