Healthy Lifestyles and Eating

Please note that you DO NOT need to provide a water bottle, drink or snack.  We will be providing this within school during Reception. However, be aware that other year groups will be bringing in snacks and water bottles daily.

Your child will have free access to water throughout the day, and if they are under 5 years old, they will also be offered free milk.

All children are offered a fruit or vegetable snack during the morning and the kitchen staff work hard to follow their guidelines to ensure a choice of healthy meal choices for lunch.

Following 2025 statutory changes to the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements, our children will be monitored and offered only healthy foods and snacks. Therefore, snacks sent into school with your child will be returned, especially sugary or fatty snacks.

It is also important to note that Willington Primary School is a NUT FREE school. Lunches sent into school should not contain nut products. This is to ensure that children in school with nut allergies are safeguarded.
