Week 1
It’s been a busy and productive week in school! Here’s what we’ve been working on:
This week, we have started our work on Shakespeare’s Macbeth, where the children have acted out parts of the story. They have also been learning about finding clues in the text that help them to understand characters’ thoughts, motivations, and hidden meanings. Everyone showed great enthusiasm during our drama lessons!
In maths, we’ve been finishing our unit on percentages. Pupils practised calculating percentages of amounts, understanding percentage increase and decrease, and applying these skills to real-life problems. Fantastic effort all round!
We also had a special visit from the Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service. They delivered an important and engaging session on fire safety, offering clear advice on what to do in the event of a fire, how to stay safe at home, and ways to prevent accidents. The children asked brilliant questions and really valued the practical guidance.
