The children have returned to school this week from their summer holidays and have settled in well since their return.

In Maths, the children have begun a unit of work about Place Value, investigating how three-digit numbers can be placed accurately on number lines and can be partitioned in various ways.  They have begun to practise their times tables, and were introduced to Times Table Rock Stars when they used the iPads to develop their recall skills on the game.  The children also have access to Times Table Rock Stars at home, with the link to this being found below:

On the final day of the week, the children came to school in costume to celebrate Roald Dahl Day - It was lovely to see so many children take part in this, wearing many different character costumes from Roald Dahl's books.

Week 2:

The children began their English topic about George's Marvellous Medicine.  The week began by the class discussing what they would put into their own cauldron for making a perfect teacher.  Then, Mr Rodgers made his own 'Marvellous Medicine' using Diet Coke and Mentos.  The reaction was 'EXPLOSIVE' as the video below demonstrates!
