Week 2 - World Book Day
On Thursday, it was World Book Day. We came to school with our favourite books and a prop from our book. We enjoyed sharing these with our friends (see photos at the bottom). We talked about our books and had a competition to create a front cover.
Also this week, we have also been enjoying a wonderful range of author sessions from Scholastic.
We loved listening to the story Goldilocs, read by author Ella McLeod, and were excited to learn how to draw a bear with illustrator Rochelle Falconer. The children had a fantastic time following her step-by-step instructions and creating their own characters.

We also learnt what it means to become a wild apprentice with conservation expert Sarah Roberts. She taught us all about wildlife, looking after our environment, and how we can help protect the natural world around us. We were fascinated by her new book which explains some of the interesting jobs that you can do when you grow up.

Another highlight of the week was a special story time and draw‑along with David Litchfield for his beautiful book The Velveteen Rabbit. We really enjoyed joining in and watching the story come to life through his illustrations. We even had our question read out and answered live!

It has been an inspiring week of stories, creativity, and learning from real authors and illustrators!
