Week 6
Children’s Mental Health Week – Celebrating Belonging
This week, our pupils took part in a range of activities to celebrate Children’s Mental Health Week, focusing on this year’s theme: Belonging. The children explored what it truly means to feel connected — to people, places, and the world around them.
As part of the learning, each child created a “Belonging Map” to help them think about the different areas of their life that make them who they are. They included their favourite hobbies, special places, the people who support them, and aspects of their identity that make them unique. This activity encouraged thoughtful discussion about how we all belong to different communities, from our families and friendship groups to our school and wider world.
To finish the week, the children created artwork which represented their personal identity and the things that help them feel connected. Their artwork and discussions remind us of the importance of supporting each other and making sure everyone in our school community feels that they belong.
