We have a School Council which is made up of two pupil representatives per class from Y1-Y6. They provide a valuable voice reflecting the thoughts and wishes of their class. Their recent initiatives have included getting more equipment for playtimes and new signs for the playground. They have also led fundraising activities for Children-in-Need, Save the Children and the NSPCC.
We have ECO Warriors who help us all to be aware of energy saving, recycling and the environment. As a school we recycle paper and cardboard. The Warriors are also currently following the Eco-Schools Action plan which includes: litter picking, planting flowers to provide a natural habitat for insects and other animals, identifying types of trees, bird watching survey of school grounds, to name but a few!
The eco-warriors have worked so hard using the left over newspaper, from our Art and Designer week, to make Christmas cards.
They have given up their break and lunch times and have worked really well as a team.
Well done eco-warriors!
Also a big thanks to those who ran the eco-warrior stall at the Christmas fair.
Travel Smart Week
Monday 21st - Friday 25th October
Well done to the eco-warriors for talking about 'Travel Smart Week' during assembly.
Let's try to think about being more active and more environmentally friendly, when travelling to school.
We have had great fun, joining forces with the school council, to create these amazing book hedgehogs to sell at the Summer Fayre.
Bottle Top Christmas Trees
Thank you so much to everyone who donated plastic bottle tops for our recycling project. We had great fun making these bottle top Christmas trees - they look great, adding a little extra sparkle around school.
