In Phonics, we are revisiting previous learning in preparation for the Phonics Screening Check which will take place next week. Please find below a document showing some of the words we have been reading in class together (I will also provide a paper copy when their reading book is changed). Reading this at home will help build both your child's confidence and phonics knowledge. Please record any extra reading like this in their reading diary and I can award house points.

The Phonics Screening Check will take place next week (week beginning 12th June). Please see below information regarding the Phonics Screening Check.

Please find a link below to some fun phonics based online games that you might wish to play with your child over the coming weeks to help them get used to reading nonsense (alien) words, so that they can practise spotting digraphs/trigraphs and split vowel digraphs. You can select different Phases of Phonics, I would suggest focusing on Phase 4 and 5. There are three available to play for free, without needing to log in or subscribe - Buried Treasure, Dragon's Den and Picnic on Pluto.

Please find below the spellings that will be tested on Friday 16th June, which contain /au/ and /aw/ making the 'or' phoneme. Practicing these at home will obviously help your child to feel more confident during the spelling test. I will send home a printed list of spellings with your child on a Friday in their home spelling book and they will be available on the class page below, as well as being set on Spelling Shed. House points will be awarded based on your child's performance (both academic and personal achievements).

This week our Treasured Text is Lost in the Toy Museum by David Lucas. We really enjoyed sharing this adventure story this week and the children were quick to spot that it involved a game of hide and seek!

In Maths we have started learning about Place Value to 100 so amongst other things we have been practising counting all the way up to 100! We have used this fun video to help us:
