Week 5
Autumn Term 1 - Week 5:
This week in Year 6, we have been planning a narrative based on the story of Kensuke's Kingdom. Having read the story up to chapter 5, we began planning a story based on the viewpoint of Kensuke rather than from that of Michael. We have looked at the use of dialogue and how to use this correctly and will next week use these skills when writing our own version of the story.
In maths, we have been learning about multiplication. We learnt about square numbers and cube numbers and had fun finding different prime numbers up to 100. We also learnt different techniques when multiplying by larger numbers, including using factors and by partitioning.
In art, we have continued with our surrealism pictures. We have particularly enjoyed this unit of work and have this week developed our artwork further from that which we started last week. We hope that you like some of our work.
