Week 2
Our current writing focus is to write a setting description based on 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.' This week, we watched part of the film, 'The Chronicles of Narnia,' to generate vocabulary ideas for our writing. We have been working on expanded noun phrases in our writing and therefore focused on nouns and adjectives as well as verbs and adverbs.
We then organised our ideas into a plan to support with our independent writing ensuring that we include description of senses and a variety of sentence types. We finished the week with a prediction focused reading lesson based on Chapter 6, where the children had to predict what had happened to Mr Tumnus. A slow reveal of words were given as clues to help the children justify their predictions using the text to support their answers.
