Week 3

Phonics

This week we have been reading CCVC, CCCVC and CCV words like: sweet, sleep, slight, croak, crown, clown, street, screech, sprain, strain, screen, star, smear, star, clear, tree, free etc. The children enjoyed spotting the three letter blends like str, scr and spr!

We've also recapped all our tricky words too and read sentences containing these. 

 

Maths

We've been learning about odd and even numbers and even started counting in 2s!

Our book of the week was...

This book addresses how a disabled child might want to be spoken to. What happened to you? Was it a shark? A burglar? A lion? Did it fall off? Every time Joe goes out the questions are the same . . . what happened to his leg? But is this even a question Joe has to answer? This funny story helps children understand what it might feel like to be seen as different.
