Week 3 - Coronation Celebration Week

This week we have had a themed week on the Coronation and learning all abut King Charles III! 

All our activities and learning have been Coronation Themed... here's some of the things we have been up to...

enlightenedWe read some stories about King Charles and the Coronation. We first read 'The King's Pants' and then designed King Charles some Coronation Pants - and tried to include things we found out that he likes, such as nature, wildlife, animals, helicopters etc. We also read 'A Colourful Coronation Book' which taught us lots of things about the coronation like the colour robes King Charles would be wearing and about the sceptre, orbs and crowns too!

enlightenedWe wrote lists for coronation parties we might be having over the long weekend

enlightenedWe counted the correct amount of jewels onto crowns

enlightenedWe 'made cakes' from playdough especially for the king with red, white and blue sprinkles!

enlightenedWe enjoyed the Coronation Picnic on the field with our families and friends - we were very happy the weather held out!

 

We also LOVED listening to the Horrible Histories Kings and Queens song - and enjoyed watching it many times.
