Year 1

Hello my lovely Fantastic Foxes, 🦊

Can you believe that this is our last week of Year 1? It seems so weird not to be busily sorting our classroom out and doing our last pieces of work together. I hope you are all safe and well at home and have a busy week doing lots of work about you and your family. Don’t forget to complete some transition activities for Mrs Robinson and Mrs Ursell, too!

I wish I could be there with you all this week to say goodbye and am sad not to be able to give you all a little thank you gift to say well done for working so hard this year and for being such stars. I have absolutely loved being your teacher this year and will miss you all so much. I have been busy looking back over our memories of the year and have made you a little video instead to say thank you! (see below)

Luckily, we will get to spend some time together when you return in September! Until then, I hope you have a fun-filled, sunny and exciting summer holiday! 🔆

Transition activities for you to complete for your new teachers, Mrs Robinson and Mrs Ursell.

Please feel free to adapt these ideas or to create your own picture or piece of work which tells us something about you. We can’t wait to see what you come up with! It would be fabulous if you could drop your work into school before the end of term so that we can get busy displaying it ready for our return in September - you could even drop it in for us when you collect your report. Enjoy!

🏡 📚 Home Learning Activities 📚 🏡

🦊 especially for the Fantastic Foxes 🦊

Previous Learning Content
I've added some extra activities that you can dip into as and when you would like (in addition to the weekly activities). These include phonics, writing, maths, science and well-being activities.

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous Easter full of fun, chocolate 🍫 and treats 🐣. I hope you’ve been learning some new skills (like cooking, cleaning and gardening), have found a new hobby or learnt to play a new game.

Each week I will be posting some new ideas of things that you might like to have a go at each week. These will be a mixture of practising things that we have already learnt and learning some new things.
The BBC are launching daily lessons, which look fabulous! Don’t forget that there are also all of the lovely activities listed below and that we post new things on the website and Twitter as we find them.

There is no expectation to complete all of the work that is set. Please feel free to do as many (or as few) activities as you like. Please do not worry about school work! Home schooling is new to everyone and is difficult. Whatever you are doing is enough and is right for you and your family. I will get the children back on track when the time comes.

Whilst it is important to keep learning and stay busy, it is also important to stay happy and safe and to spend quality time together. What your child needs most is to share our calm, our strength and our laughter so that, in the future, they have nothing but happy memories of this time to share with their grandchildren! Please do not worry about whether your child is behind or ahead. They are exactly where they should be.

If you need anything, please contact me on parent.contact@willington.derbyshire.sch.uk. Don’t forget to share anything, however big or small, with me via this email- I have loved seeing what you have been up to so far.

Stay safe. Keep happy. Be good and kind. Keep in touch.

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all having a wonderful time at home with your family. I just wanted to post a few ideas on here of things that you can have a go at at home over the next two weeks and the Easter holidays. If we are closed beyond this, I will put on some more structured ideas.

For now, look after each other, stay in contact with family and friends over the phone/online, keep safe and have some much needed fun, relaxation and family time.

I am missing you all very much and hope that we will be back together in school soon!
