Week 7

Autumn Term 2 - Week 7:

The children have all been enjoying their last week of term this week.

The week began by holding a Christmas concert on Monday afternoon.  The children enjoyed performing various carols to the parents, including Silent Night (which the Year 6 children sang in German for the second verse), O Little Town of Bethlehem and Midnight.  The school also finished off the concert by singing Ed Sheeran and Sir Elton John's Merry Christmas.

During the week, the children have been creating their own Christmas cards.  They used the technique of pointillism to create their holly wreath cards.  The children really enjoyed creating these and look forward to sharing them with their families next week.

In English, the children watched the 2015 Spanish Lottery Advert about a security guard who spread Christmas joy to workers in a factory.  They particularly enjoyed answering comprehension questions about this film, and discussed how empathy had been used to portray the different characters' feelings.

Everyone in Year 6 would like to wish all our families and the whole community of Willington a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
