With our book focus this week being The Hungry Caterpillar, we are starting this half term learning about the amazing growth of a caterpillar into a butterfly. We will be consolidating our knowledge of human and plant growth from last half term by looking at lifecycles.
During our reading and phonics lessons, we will be using all the phonemes we have previously learnt to read words that are focusing on words that include short vowels, such as thank, bench, dress, truck and milk. We will be working hard to write words in short sentences with the correct letter formation and learn about four new Tricky Words: some , come, love, do
We have enjoyed retelling the story of the Hungry Caterpillar, learnt the days of the week and have sequenced lifecycle model toys and images.
We have sequenced human growth and change and talked about changes when new babies arrive in families. The children have used the dolls in our role play area to show how adults look after babies and what we can do now that we couldn't when we were younger.
