Autumn Term 2 - Week 5:
This week, the children in Year 6 took part in the Christmas Fayre. They ran various stalls which raised a lot of money towards the final total for Friends of Willington Primary. Many thanks to all those who stayed behind after school to help.
In maths, the children have been learning how to divide fractions by integers. They used sheets of paper to fold into a particular fraction and then divided that fraction by a certain whole number. The children then realised that this was the same process as multiplying two fractions together (e.g. 1/2 ÷ 5 = 1/2 x 1/5).
The children have worked really hard with their flashback narratives based on the animation of 'The Piano' in their English lessons. They used precise language to create empathy and pathetic fallacies based on the weather and the emotion of the old man in the film.
