Our ‘Friends’ committee is a small but dedicated group of parents, members of staff and members of our community who are full of enthusiasm and good ideas. They meet about once a term and support at school events. The aim is to organise fund raising events throughout the school year to fund extra-curricular events, increase resources and provide funding for new projects.
There have been many successful events in the past, such as Christmas and Summer Fayres, Discos, Chocolate Bingo, Pumpkin Festivals and many, many raffles. Over the last few years, the ‘Friends’ raised funds to improve our library. ‘Friends’ have recently fundraised to provide a wireless projector for the hall, new engaging reading books and are now raising money to replace the trim trail on the field. This will help children be involved in active play and is sure to be a firm favourite at playtimes and lunchtime. Anyone is very welcome to come and join the ‘Friends’ committee at any point throughout the year and we actively encourage new members. Please ask in school about when the next meeting is happening or look out for information in our newsletters or on the Friends of Willington Primary School Facebook page.

2023 Treasure Hunt:
Many thanks to all those families who took part in the 2023 treasure hunt. Three winners were chosen - a pupil in Year 6, Year 4 and Year 1, and the answers to the clues can be found below. The treasure hunt raised approximately £180.
Chocolate Valentines Bingo
Just before February half term, we held our chocolate bingo. A great night was had by all who attended and we raised just short of £900.
Christmas Fayre 2022
On Friday 2nd December, we held our annual Christmas Fayre. Once again, this was really well supported and many thanks to everyone who contributed towards this - by donating bottles for the bottle tombola; by donating colour-raffle prizes; for buying raffle tickets; or for attending the fayre. It was lovely to see so many families in school enjoying the atmosphere and playing the Year 5/6 games, enjoying the many refreshments and even visiting Santa! Early indications show that well over £2000 was raised. Many thanks for your continued support.
