Autumn 2 Topic - Autumn Celebrations
This half-term our topic will be all about Autumn Celebrations. The children will be learning about Bonfire night and Diwali. We will also be learning about different types of toys and looking at how they have changed over the years. Towards the end of the term, we will be learning about Christmas and how it is celebrated.
We made these beautiful Diva Lamps as part of our learning about Diwali ✨🪔🤩
In Week 1 we learnt all about Bonfire Night, we talked about why we celebrate it and how it’s celebrated. We also talked about firework and bonfire safety! Here are some of the things we got up to... 🤩✨🎆🍂🎇🍁
Autumn Term 1 Topic - All About Me!
This half term our topic is ‘All About Me!’ and so the children will be doing lots of work around starting school, routines and rules at school, families and friends, the body & senses and likes and dislikes.
As we start the new school year, we will be reading books about starting school, families and traditional stories. We will also be looking at the Oxford Reading Tree characters, starting to recognise the characters for when the children begin to take reading books home. The children will be learning about rhyme; how words sound similar and making rhyming strings.
