Week 4
In English, we have been enjoying our new book ‘The Rainbow Bear’ by Michael Morpurgo. We received a package in the post. It was wrapped in white paper and covered in footprints and a fragile sticker. We thought about where and who it might have come from and what could be inside. Inside, was a model polar bear, some crystals and snow and a message which read, ‘Settle down and enjoy my story. Love from The Rainbow Bear.’
We enjoyed listening to the story and drawing our own versions of the bear. We are going to be writing our own narrative based on this story and learnt about the features of a narrative. We completed a features spotter to identify the setting, character, problem, resolution and writing in the third person in an example text. We love this session!
