This week, we learnt about the four countries of the United Kingdom and the emblems that they have:
England- rose
Scotland- thistle
Wales- daffodil
Northern Ireland- shamrock.
We looked at their flags and that they are mainly named after the patron saints. We also looked at the Union Jack flag and its origins.
We chose one of the countries and designed a new flag for it. The flag had to include the current colours and the emblem somewhere. It was great fun!
