We had a very busy week back after half term and filled the 4 day week with lots of fun and learning! On Thursday, we celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as our favourite book character and we also joined in with the BBC Live Lesson. During the live lesson, we learnt more about different book genres and went on to create our own 'twisted' story based on a book/character that we already know.
In whole class reading and writing lessons, we've begun a new unit based on 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes. We started by exploring different metals and the vocabulary linked to it and are using this within our sentence stacking lessons.
In Maths, we completed our multiplication and division learning and are now ready to move on to fractions. It's been great to see the children's confidence in formal written methods built and I would encourage everyone to practise at home as much as possible.
In Geography, we learnt about some of Europe's most important characteristics and enjoyed looking at some of the continents most famous landmarks.
