This week, I have organised activities all based the anniversary of Victory over Europe- 'V.E. 75 Day'.
The Bank Holiday Monday had been changed to Friday 8th May in order for us all to come together for a commemoration and to celebrate this event.
Many events have had to be cancelled following the outbreak of Chronovirus but there is still an opportunity for us to find out more about why this day is important and how we can mark the day at home.
For further information, I have added links below to official organisations that have been involved in organising events for the day.
The Royal British Legion and other organisations would like us to take part by decorating our homes with bunting and following events below....
Timetable for Friday 8th May
11am: 2 minute silence of remembrance and thanksgiving followed by VE Day 75 Livestream at 11.15.(See BBC1)
'Afternoon Tea' in safety in your garden.
3pm: Raise a Toast to the Heroes and listen to Churchill's Speech
This maybe a little late, though I'm sure you will be able to watch it on Saturday morning....
8pm: An evening of memories and music including a sing-a-long to Dame Vera Linn's 'We'll Meet Again'
9pm: The Queen will make a speech.
Mr Rodgers TT Rock Stars Competition!
A competition has been organised for us and all junior classes to see if we are the best local school. Mr Rodgers has set the multiplication facts for you so they shouldn't get too tricky so any practise on TT Rock Stars, this week in particular, should help us win the competition. Don't forget your user name and password are in the front of your diary.
