Week 3

Although this week was a shorter week, it will be one to remember - the main reason being King Charles' Coronation. We learnt about the coronation and a bit more about King Charles III, we also did a piece of writing about what we would do if we were King/Queen for the day. The whole school had a red, white and blue non-uniform day on Friday, and in class we created our own King Charles sun catchers before looking at all of the entries for the 'Great Willington Coronation Bake Off.' To end the celebrations, we enjoyed having a picnic outdoors in the unexpected sunshine with our friends and family before taking some cake home for the weekend!

Throughout the rest of the week, we continued our Aladdin writing, explored vocabulary in reading lessons focused on 'The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe' and worked on our decimal knowledge in maths. In science, we created an investigation to answer the question, 'Do sugary drinks cause tooth decay?' We learnt about how to keep healthy, made predictions on which drink would cause the most damage to our teeth (hard boiled eggs!) and wrote out a method. We are looking forward to observing what happens over the next week.
