Week 3
Autumn Term 1 - Week 3:
This week, the children have been learning about genetics and inheritance. The children discussed the term inheritance and how some characteristics of people are directly inherited from their parents whereas others are influenced by their environment. For example, the ability to play football is a characteristic which is developed due to environmental influences, but someone's eye colour is an inherited characteristic. Using illustrations of Mr Men and Little Miss characters, the children developed their own characters and based on inherited characteristics. The children really enjoyed this learning and had great fun creating their unique characters too!
