Week 2

We've had a busy, busy week in Year 4 this week! At the start of the week, the children practised on the official Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) website before completing the real check on Wednesday. Mrs Spencer-Lovesey and I were so impressed with how everyone approached and completed the checks - there were some nerves but everyone did their best and should be proud of their efforts. It's important to continue practising your times tables as these are so important in Year 5 and beyond!

Throughout the rest of the week, we learnt about plastic pollution in our shared reading sessions, looking at a non-fiction and two fiction pieces including the picture book 'Clean Up!'

In history, we focused on learning more about the Roman Empire and learnt about the countries that were invaded.

We also had a very exciting trip on Friday when we visited Derby Arena and took part in the 'Come and Play with Halle' concert. Everyone had a fantastic time enjoying watching and listening to the fabulous orchestra and participated in several songs that we have been practising in school with Derbyshire Music Hub. It was an excellent experience for all!
