Week 3

Spring Term 2 - Week 3:

This week, the children have begun to deepen their learning about Mary Queen of Scots in their history lessons.  They looked at the relationship between Queen Elizabeth and Mary Queen of Scots, and debated whether it was right as to whether Mary had a claim to the throne or the fact that Elizabeth stopped Mary from becoming the queen of England.

In RE, the children learnt about ahimsa and the Hindu life cycle.  They discussed how Hindus believe in good karma and bad karma and how moksha is what Hindus believe is the freedom from the eternal cycle of life, death and rebirth.

The children have also really enjoyed learning about Macbeth in their English lessons.  They carried out some drama at the start of the week, performing a playscript based on the opening to the Shakespeare play, and have begun to develop ideas for writing a character description about the main character, Macbeth.
