w/c 13th July

Hello Outstanding Otters,

Well here we have it…the final week of your Year 5 learning! I didn’t think I’d be typing this goodbye on my laptop instead of stood in front of you all in the classroom - and although this makes me sad - I’m so proud of how well you have coped with the later part of this school year. However… you haven’t seen the last of me yet!! Hopefully you will have seen that I will be there on your first day and a half as Year 6’s in September (Thursday and Friday morning) and will then hand you over to your new teacher, Mr Rodgers. Mr Rodgers is looking forward to teaching you and we’ve already discussed what hard working and enthusiastic learners you are! There's plenty of transition activities for you to complete and bring in if you can, so make sure you take a look at those.

I’m sure some of you will have plenty of questions and be feeling a bit nervous about this next chapter which is very normal, but please don’t forget we’re all in this together and you can pop by school or send an email in if you’d rather not wait until September. This week I am in school every day except Thursday and I would LOVE to see you so please say hello if you are passing, or if you’d rather a socially distanced chat, either email (parent.contact@willington.derbyshire.sch.uk) or call and we can make sure I’m available.

Finally….. Watch this space at the end of this week, I’ll be posting something special for everyone to enjoy and mark the end of a fantastic year ðŸ˜Š

I miss you all and can’t wait to see you in September! Take care and have a fantastic summer Otters, you deserve it!!

I know many of you Outstanding Otters love to keep busy when you are not at school and often ask for extra work. Here is a Maths and English summer activity book that you can work through over the holidays if you wish - there is no expectation to do so.
