Just a reminder about the Read for Good Readathon. Money raised will go to local children's hospitals to provide books and storytellers for local children who are ill in hospital. Please visit www.readforgood.org. for more information and also please find the letter sent previously by Mrs Miller below.

 

Phonics

In phonics this week, we have been reading longer words and improving our fluency in using the phonemes (sounds) that we have learnt. 

Treasured Text

Our Treasured Text this week is Julian is a Mermaid by Jessica Love. This wonderful story is jubilant picture of self-love and a radiant celebration of individuality.

Special Visitor!

On Monday we enjoyed a visit from the author Matt Oldfield! We had so much fun joining Year 1 to listen to him talk about how loves writing and loves football. We also listened to him read an extract from one of his books.
