wc. 28th November 22

Week 5

This week has been our autumn term assessment week, so the children have been working really hard to show their skills in reading, spelling and maths.

We’ve also been busy with lots of other learning. We learnt about the mummification process as part of our topic work and then the children summarised the process themselves. The children also enjoyed following mummification process by mummifying a tomato in small groups!

We watched the full short film of ‘Tadeo Jones’ and created a 6 part story board, focusing on using fronted adverbials correctly to order the main parts in chronological order. In maths, we finished our work on addition and subtraction and will now be moving on to learning about area (measurement).

In PE, we continued to our gymnastics work with Rosie by working in pairs to create sequences on apparatus and including balances on different points and patches. We also continued working on our topic based dance to ‘Walk like an Egyptian.’

We finished the week with French, learning about Christmas in France and key vocabulary. The children enjoyed playing a game of find the Christmas object in French and playing a memory game trying to beat the clock!
