This week has been Assessment Week and we have been busy answering lots of questions about reading, spelling and maths. I was so impressed with how hard everyone worked to show their progress this year! Whilst groups were completing these, the rest of the children completed their explanation of their string telephone investigation and explored then created some fantastic tonal mountain art work inspired by illustrator, William Grill.
In writing, we completed our independent write continuing the story of 'The Iron Man.' The children have worked really hard to include their learnt skills and have also begun to edit their own story. In whole class reading, we learnt about the 'Three Peaks Challenge' and worked on our explanation and retrieval skills as part of these lessons.
In PE with Rosie this week, we enjoyed completing a series of athletic based activities including relay racing. In music, we've begun performing some solo pieces and I was so impressed by the children who wanted to share what they have been practising at home.
Finally, thank you to everyone who attended Parents' Evening this week - it was great to see you all and for the children to share their hard work with you!
