Week 4

Another brilliant week in the Year 4 classroom!

In literacy, we've continued to work on writing using the short film 'Tadeo Jones' as inspiration. We've spent time learning about adverbials and fronted adverbials and on Friday, combined all of the skills we've learnt to write our own Egyptian tomb setting description.

In maths, we played a cat and mouse chase game in pairs to practise our subtraction skills. We've also been focusing on developing our subtraction skills by recognising how to work 'efficiently' by using mental or written methods.

In music, even though we didn't have the Derbyshire Music Hub in to teach us, we got our instruments out and practised some of the pieces we've learnt so far. These can be found on last week's page along with the backing music to play along too. We also began to learn to the song 'White Christmas' so we can sing and sign with makaton at the Carol concert in a few weeks time.
