Week 2

Week 2

The weather has been glorious this week - we have enjoyed lots of water play outside to try and keep cool. Mrs Braddock set us a 'car wash' station which we loved!

Whilst the weather is lovely - please remember to send your child with a sunhat and water bottle each day.

I also sent out a letter about our whole class trip to the adventure farm this week... it will be a lovely way to end a fabulous year together!

Phonics

This week we have continued with our phase 4 learning and have been reading CVCC and CCVC words containing long vowel sounds like toast, burnt, joint. paint, bleed, growl, smart, groan, speech, bright etc...

This week our book of the week was:

It is about a village who suddenly have an infestation of 4 million waps! What villagers going to do about this noisy, nasty nuisance of a swarm? Make a giant jam sandwich - that's what!

We have also started counting in 2s in maths - we were so good at this! We noticed the pattern of the numbers and discussed that they always have to end in a 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8 to be able to be shared fairly. "When we share, it's always fair!"

We also learnt all about ladybirds this week and did some fantastic fact writing about them.
