Week 2

We have had an amazing week celebrating World Book Day. We enjoyed reading the story 'Flooded' by Mariajo Ilustrajo. All of our English lessons were based on this book and we came to school on World Book Day dressed as animals.

On Monday, we enjoyed reading the story and had great fun doing some drama work. We pretended to be animals in the story and thought about the fun things that we could do in a flood such as surfing and canoeing. We even tried out being larger animals who gave piggy backs to safety for the smaller animals. Some of us even pretended to climb on the roof!

We worked as a class to write our own class version of the story with mice at the centre (as we are the Marvellous Mice). We are really proud that we are authors and have created our own book. This will be in the library for anyone to read.

We also enjoyed lots of story time throughout the week. Miss Pritchard read us one of her favourite Old Bear stories by Jane Hissey and we enjoyed some poetry by Michael Rosen. Lots of us named him as our favourite author.
