On Thursday and Friday this week, Year 4's enjoyed the first ever 'Camp Willington' experience! From beginning to end, the children enjoyed the whole experience and were fantastic representatives of WPS demonstrating the schools 'REACH' values throughout.
On Thursday afternoon, we raised our flag and agreed to the camp rules before setting out in groups to build our accommodation (3 fabulous bell tents) for the evening. In the evening, we feasted on chips for dinner, played 'kinball' and enjoyed songs and stories around the campfire before toasting and tasting marshmallows and a bit of star gazing!
Throughout the experience, we participated in various activities including shelter building, making pendants using a Stone-Age pump drill, purifying water, firing water rockets into the air and even eating bugs!! Mealworms, crickets and locusts are thankfully unlikely to be added to the school menu, but Miss Shepherd was super impressed with the children for giving them a go!
A super time was had by all as you can see in these pictures!
