In Phonics this week we have continued reading longer words, thinking about chunking them as needed to make it easier to read them.
We shared the book 'The last stop on market street' by Matt de la Pena. This wonderful story follows the character CJ. CJ begins his weekly bus journey around the city with disappointment and dissatisfaction, wondering why he and his family can't drive a car like his friends. Through energy and encouragement, CJ's nana helps him see the beauty and fun in their routine.
In English, we thought about the next plot point of 'The Wild Things' and wrote descriptions of the sounds the wild things make! The Happy Hedgehogs did brilliant sounding out to use their phonics knowledge to record their ideas - well done!
