  • Remembrance 2022

Fri 11 Nov 2022 Mr Tague

To mark Remembrance this year a group of Year 6 children represented our school in the village. Some of the Year 6s read their incredibly thought-provoking poems that they had written in English based on the poppy. Many attendees were reduced to tears such was the language used in them. Other children laid a wreath of poppies on the green on behalf of the children, staff and families at Willington Primary School. It was a lovely collaborative event with the local WI. Thank you to everyone that supported the event.

  • Pumpkin Fest 2022

Tue 01 Nov 2022 Mr Tague

In the final week of the last half term we hosted our very first Friends' Pumpkin Fest. It was a huge success and you turned out in droves to support the vent. You helped raise a staggering £650 for the children so thank you very much. Thank you also to the members of the Friends of Willington Primary School and to the school staff that helped organise and support the event. Without the volunteers these events would not happen. Please ask how you can support with upcoming events. Well done to the children that won best pumpkin. Here are some picture highlights of the event...

  • Food Bank Harvest Donations

Tue 01 Nov 2022 Mr Tague

Thank you for your very kind harvest donations which we donated to the Swadlincote food bank. It was  fantastic to be able to take the Year 6 Willington Warriors to the food bank to take the donated items across. The ladies were telling us that our donations, along with others, will last the food bank about two weeks such is the demand. We really appreciate your kindness with this - thank you very much.
